My [undecipherable] Stores receiv'd and effects and [undecipherable] common [undecipherable] attention. The Garrison here address'd to Col. Bayard were sent [undecipherable] in due time by a safe hand who [undecipherable] has deliver'd them. Cap^t Harrison acknowledges the Receipt of his letter. In M^r Humphreys' instructions for building the Gallies the [undecipherable] Howitzers to be mounted on the [undecipherable] are [undecipherable] these Howitzers are not yet come forward. The Commander in Chief has shewn me a Requisition he has made for ordnance stores for the Mississippi posts on which I observe a large quantity of lead is required. This Requisition led me to make Enquiry respecting lead procured from the Mines of [undecipherable] and I have assurance that there is now deposited near Fort Massac 80,000 lb Lead which may be purchas'd at 8 cents per lb. I mention this to you in order that the Secretary of War or Purveyor may be inform'd of [undecipherable]. Several of the Owners of Furnaces in this Country have offer'd their Furnaces in casting Shells, that Cannon on moderate Terms. — I have this day found it necessary to draw on you in favor of [undecipherable] at ten days sight for 1000 Dollars which [undecipherable] to pay and charge as usual.
