Major Tousard had two Teams, employed at Fort Mifflin, and [that]
only one person as a driver was to attend both Teams, and th[at]
Montges was in the habit of paying on the order of Major T[ousard]
for the hire of these Teams, as if each had a driver; on [fur]ther
enquiry of Colo Montges he tells me that Major Tousard ha[s]
got employed of his own property, five horses with carts, &[c.]
of oxen, and that he continues to employ but one [d]river[for both]
Teams, & that the voucher to make the payment for the la[st of]

he was aware of the impropriety of it, & has frequently men[tioned]
