Dear Sir.
After a twelve Months Illness, of the severest kind of Rheumatism, I have fallen into another misfortune, the strict hand of justice has call'd on me for Money; I am now in the hands of the Civil Officers, who has made my home my prison untill Monday. If I do not pay them, & shou'd be remov'd to prison & am ruin'd. I have taken the liberty to write to you as a Friend, & a man of humanity, & remain your sincere but unfortunate
