Sir
The Quarter Master Genl by order of the commanding General requests me to send forward to Pittsburgh without delay fifty Horsemen and two hundred common Tents and that Iron sufficient for two hundred camp kitts. Say 1200 lb. — that Iron in proportion for valies though not requested should be forwarded.—
The Tents may be sent with more expedition from Sheppards Issure than from any other Deposit and if you approve the measure I will direct him to forward them immediately. the Iron must be purchased and go from hence —

Sir
I am favoured with your letter of the 17th instant forwarded. I thank you. I have made an arrangement to get the public load in your keeping of which I informed Mr Anderson in a letter yesterday. Request you to keep it safely until the waggon comes from hence to take it on which will probably be about the beginning of next week.
For your care and trouble I expect to make compensation.
