To discharge a balance found due to Abraham Kuk, heretofore late Commissary of provision with this Army, I request a warrant for thirteen thousand, five hundred, and ninety four dollars and twenty-five Cents, to be charged as usual to the Quarter Master General, to whom Departments embraces all expenditures in the commissariation.

As soon as possible after the receipt of this letter, you will send three Drays twenty five forerunner in your keeping the New York to the address of Melaneton Smith who has attention to receive them and pay the expence of their transportation — & provide your return their travelling Carriages for Cannon, which as the Ordnance referred to are for Field use, I consider must belong to them, if so, and they are fit for use, or can be made so for a small expence, after Inspect them you will send them also to Mr Smith with the Guns, make answer to this letter as early as possible after you receive it and let me know on what you to observe relative to this business —
