Sir,
Enclosed you have the requested Estimates made as correct as the information I possess will permit. The two Estimates for the Posts of Georgia and Tennessee cannot essentially differ as they provide for the same number and kind of Troops. The Estimate for transportation is explained as follows. The first charge in the Estimate embraces the Articles called for by the commanding General and which are expected to be provided in one forwarded from this City to Pittsburgh. The second embraces the usual transportation of Clothing and Supplies for the Army and Posts and the Annuities for the Indians to the same place. The third — the transportation of Supplies to the Posts and Garrisons on the Sea Coasts the Southern and Western Frontiers, and to the several recruiting Rendezvous. The fourth and last provides for receiving and occasionally removing Arms, Butter and other Stores from one place of deposit to another or to final delivery.
The whole comprehend all the expences for transportation that I expect will occur here. Circumstances may however call for large additions of the probability of this you can best judge and you will provide accordingly.
I am Sir,
Your most Obedt. Servt.
