In consequence of your request I have caused an examination, to take place of the Muster Rolls of the Massachusetts line, and finds that Ruben Pike enlisted as a private in the 6 Regt. on the 7th. of January 1777. for the War, and was promoted to Corporal the 1st of Augt. 1780. but cannot ascertain the time of his death.
The name of Samuel Scammel does not appear on any of the Muster Rolls of the late line of Massachusetts
