On the third instant I found it necessary to draw on you in favor of John Hamsher N°2 at ten days sight for four hundred dollars and at fifteen days for one thousand dollars these drafts be pleased to pay and charge as usual to the Q. M. General's account. The Q. M. General has approved of the accounts of the Ship Carpenters being settled in my Office, I have therefore given you credit for the several sums advances to those men in Philadelphia, that are now here, agreeable to the enclosed Schedule. But you are to observe that William Aberman & James M^cMickle, two of the carpenters, who sign'd the Articles of Agreement with M^r Humphreys have not arrived and Spresma will not. Enclosed you will find Joseph Parks Receipt for Doctor Balfour's Chest. Park will be shortly in Phil^a and wishes to take a load of public property. I believe he is a careful waggoner. N.B.
