Sir
I received your letter of the 2d Instt enclosing Muster & Pay rolls of the Detachment under your command for March 1798 and the subsistencial accounts of yourself and Officers for the same period both of which will undergo the necessary examination and the amount found due will be remitted thro' the usual channel so soon as Congress will pass a law appropriating for the present Year which has yet is not the case.
It has been ascertained that the claim of Ira Halls for four Dollars for balance of Bounty is a just one, you will be pleased accordingly to make him up for that sum on your next Pay roll and the same will be admitted —
Agreeably to your request you will receive herewith some Blank Muster & Pay rolls —
