R.P.O. 401310.] [Philadelphia.] West-Point March 15^th 1798. Sir. The thousand Gun Stocks were receiv'd by Capt Flemming yesterday. — before any of them are work'd 'tis necessary I should know the price of those which shall upon examination be found fitt for Stocking Military Guns. In the year 1793 I was charg'd for 1284 Stocks, found good, (which I had rec'd from the publick,) twenty Cents each. I think it of the greatest importance that the Bayonets and Ramrods should be sent on, that they may be fitted to the Guns as soon as they are Stock'd and otherwise repair'd.
