Sir.
An accompt has been settled at the Treasury in the names of George and Robert Cochran for supplies furnished by them to a detachment of the troops of the United States at Natchez, under the command of Lieutenant Perry Smith Pope, from the 25th of April to the 14th of November 1797. in which they have received credit for the price of three horses, furnished by them to the said Lieut Pope.—
You will therefore be pleased to make such entries in the books of your Office, for holding the said Pope accountable for the three horses furnished to him as aforesaid, as shall appear to you necessary for that purpose.
