In conformity with the request contained in your letter dated the 14th Instt I enclose you an abstract of the contract prices of different suits of cloths allowed the non commissioned Officers & Privates of the Army of the United States taken from the contract of the present Year — The Knapsack & Blanket are not included, those articles being furnished when needed, by the Purveyor, who purchases the materials in Gross & has them made up — he informs me that the blanket would cost 1. $33 and the Knapsack 67 Cents, which I conceive may guide you in your deductions —
