[Sam^l Henley U S Fort Wayne July 20^th Hon^d a [undecipherable] Pitts Store received 2^d Oct^r (Points respects his Claim) Claim, 3 Mons Subsy Pay] Fort Wayne July 20^th 1799 Sir The day of the above date I closed my letter to you with my Account, on the night of that day while in my bed the business of your several letters being centred in my mind on fresh recollection, you will see in my Account the second warrant, I received of General Knox was only for 90 dollars, which gave me 3 months pay and no subsistance, in my letter Sir to you of the 31^st of Octob^r 99 you can there observe that I inform you I am confident I accounted to James O'Hara Esq^r for six months pay and subsistance received of General Knox in Philadelphia while Secretary of War, should I receive 3 months subsistance added to 90 dollars it would complete six months pay which I fairly gained by industry, I find from your letter to a Major Hunt! that you are placing your books of Office with regularity, be so kind as to let me know if I dont doe right in inclosing my account to you for 3 months subsistance and then Sir if I have lost my recollection, in the business, I will without delay transmitt securely to you every dollar I fall indebted I am Sir! with respect your humble Serv^t Sam^l Henley C.
