Sir, The enclosed Invoice shews you the contents of the Waggons and by this conveyance to you articles, to be forwarded immediately to Elizabeth Town to Lieutevant Howsee Payton you will please to write a line to him when you send forward the Clothing, and in it enclose the Invoice that he may know whether all the articles come safely to hand. Sir, Philadelphia 25 Feb^y 1795. yesterday two waggoners by the names of Wolf and Brand left this city with their waggons loaded to your address, containing a number of Articles for the interim Treaty with the Cherckee Indians, and also the proper and papers necessary for carrying the law relative to Stamps into full execution in the State of Tennesee. I have furnished each of them with two hundred and twenty five Dollars to enable them to proceed, if from any unforseen circumstances the sums should prove insufficient, you will please to make them a further advance, and it shall be placed to your Credit in my Books. If there is any public money on hand at the time of their arrival, you will please to commit it to them on their return loaded, as in that way it will be transported for a small expence — I am Sir, David Henly, your most Obedient Servant Knoxville.
