Sir
On taking up your vouchers transmitted the 13th Decemr 97. for examination, I find none that correspond with the charges standing to your debit on the books of this office of which I sent you an extract in my letter of the 8 December 1797. I have therefore to request that you will forward the receipt of each individual for those monies, and in addition forward an account current stating the monies you have received & expended; note the dates and from whom received — these will be necessary before your account can be examined — The money charges to you in 1796, was received from Daniel Britt, Paymaster 1 Regt; on the 25 July 1792. by mr David Acheson in consequence of your letter in his favor, being for the pay of certain Scouts of Washington County for the Year 1790. the entry did not take place until October 1796, when mr Britt settled his accounts as paymaster & presented the receipt of mr Acheson as a voucher to be credited in his account current and charged to you.
Your early attention to the foregoing objects is particularly requested
