Sir,
This Moment your letters of the 3d & 9th instant are come to hand the former covering Invoices of Stores now on the Way together with a Statement of James Hamelton's account, to all of which every necessary attention shall be paid. Boats are already provided for transportation of Stores to Massac and the posts on the Mississippi, therefore the Indian Goods will be pushed forward without delay.
On the 12th Seely Hulings and Lytle delivered two cast Iron 2 #pounders very roughly cast indeed And on the 13th, one hundred Barrels of Powder were also delivered all in tolerable good order, but several of the casks without any marks by which the quality of the Powder can be known. I have therefore to request you, if possible, to point out some means of knowing the quality of the Contents without opening the Casks.
On the 10th instant found it necessary to draw on you in favor of Oliver Ormsby at ten days sight for five hundred dollars which be pleased to pay and charge as usual
