I have received your letter of 23 Ultmo and [strikethrough: have received] the contents as usual from John Chester Esquire Supervisor at Wethersfield — enclosed are the Receipt Rolls for the month of November 1797 for myself and Men, amounting to 76 Dollars — one Receipt Roll for ensign Samuel Carmele and his Recruits, for the Months of Septr October, and Novr, 1797 amounting to 297 Dollars 12/100 One Rect Roll for myself Ensign Carmele and the men under my Command for the Month of Decr 1797 amounting to 282 Dollars 32/100 a pay Roll for the Month of Jany 1798 amounting to 265 Dollars 41/100 and a Muster Roll for the Same Month —
also thirteen Receipts for Bounty amounting to 154 Dollars, together with my Recruiting Rect certificates and Receipts amounting to 229 Dollars 85/100 — I have made remarks against those who have not signed the Rects John Jones I have not seen, by desire of Ensign Carmele I have enclosed a Rect y John Jones, if admissable I will pay [strikethrough: Carmele] the money — the attention to the recruits and my Ill State of health, as I should forwarde my accts before this
