On the 12th instant 2 iron 24 Pound Cannon were delivered to me previous to which a small number of 24 lb. Shot has arrived together with a number of 8 inch Shells the very great expense of transporting these weighty Articles from Phila to this place induced me to endeavor to ascertain the rate that such castings can be procured in the vicinity of this place and find that Shot &Shells can be obtained at this place on a short notice, at 5 cents per lb which is at least 2 cents per lb less than transportation from Phila
