I am now to acknowledge the receipt

January, and agreeably to your directions have paid out to Michael Kalteisen Five hundred and Sixty eight Dollars and Sixty three Cents, being for the pay of himself Lieut Peterson, Surgeon's mate Dalsho, including forage, and the non commissioned Officers and privates of the detachment — [undecipherable] — command for the months of November and December 1797. — and herewith transmit for his receipt therefor, you will also receive enclosed my Receipt duplicate for Fifteen Dollars and Sixty four Cents, which Sum has been remitted me from the Treasury being for amount of my Account of Commissions on monies received and paid by me from the War department in the quarter ending 31st December 1797. agreeably to Warrant No 2569 of the Secretary of War.
