Sir Accountants Office February 13^th 1798 I received your letter of the 10^th Ins tant enclosing sundry Receipts for Bounties paid by you which will be filed as usual subject to a future Settlement as respects the pay of yourself & Recruits it will be neces sary that you transmit monthly Pay rolls from the date of the last payment, and the amount found due on each will be transmitted thro the usual channel, I may be proper to remark in the mean time that Congress have not as yet appropriated for the present year, you can nevertheless transmit the Pay roll for January to be ready to act on it, so soon as the appropriations are passed — Sam 78c W Simmons [If you will receive therewith some master Pay & receipt & Blank rolls] Acct.
