[Isaac Craig / 10 Feby / 1798] Pittsburg February 10^th 1798 C 6 C b, Your letter of the 23^d Ult: & 2^d instant are received the former arrives at the Post office late in the night of the 2^d and post halted only a few Minutes. The letters to Col: Sergent have been forwarded by a safe hand. The Secretary of wars indifference on my claim is mortifying indeed. On the 3^d I found it necessary to draw on you in favor of Daniel Mc Etheran & [undecipherable] at 20 days sight for 1400 dollars. On the 6^th in favor of Robert Culbertson at ten days sight for 600 dollars to enable him to pay for bar-rant and this day I have drawn on you in favor of John Nevele at ten days sight for 1000 dollars — these drafts be pleased to pay and charge as usual. I have now a number of Men employed at the Gallies these Vessels of course will greatly increase the expenditures at this Post. With respect to the General's looking Glasses — he expects them repaired at the expense of the waggoner. The Transportation of that part of the Generals baggage that came in charge of Henry Hulings I was directed to pay for on account of the United States and the General expects that all his necessary Baggage will be transported at the expense of the United States.
