Agreeably to my letter to you of the 26
Ult° you will receive herewith Blank muster & Pay rolls, agreeably to your
request —

New Brunswick, N.S. February 13, 1798.

I received your letter of the 10° Ins tant
enclosing sundry Receipts for Bounties paid by you which will be filed as usual
subject to a future Settlement
as respects the pay of yourself & Recruits it will be
necessary that you transmit monthly Pay rolls from the date of the last
payment, and the amount found due on each will be transmitted thro' the
usual channel, it may be proper to remark in the mean time that Congress have
not as yet appropriated for the present year, you can nevertheless transmit the
Pay roll for January to be ready to act on it, so soon as the appropriations are
passed —

also received the muster Roll for the same Period from the War Office; so soon
as Congress shall make the necessary appropriations for the present Year, the
amount of the former will be transmitted to you thro' the usual channel —
I have not as yet received the receipt Roll,
said in your letter to have been Forwarded to this Office for July August
& September 1797 —
