Sir,
To day, your two letters of the 24th and 26th ultimo was put into my hand, having by mistake been detained by the Secretary of War untill this time. I have seen the Comptroller & have had the matter of Major Craigs disbursements explained. His Account is made up to the 30th June 1795 inclusive, although receipts of a later date is therein admitted. He stands accountable to you for all monies received since the above date, as do all others, then, or now in the Department. You may rest satisfied that I will attend to the business as occasion may require. I have debited your Account with Mr H. Harrisons Draft in favour of Colo Sergeant for 400 Dollars, you will advise Harrison accordingly. And what you say relative to the Quarter Master Stores, I have not seen the Return you mention to have sent to the Secretary of War & me. I am therefore write you again on the subject. Your Bills have been presented & honored
