Sir I have received your letter of this date wishing to know the amount that has been or is now about to be passed to your Credit on the Books of this Office, and, whether it will be essentially necessary for you to attend personally, during the examination of those of your vouchers, which are lodged in this Office, and not yet passed to your Credit —
In answer to the first part, I have to inform you, that the amount which has been entered to your credit as Paymaster General is Dolls 758098 &c, and as Clerk of the War Office Dolls 35804 &c, that it appears by the account of Lieutt Sterrett Paymaster now under examination, that a further sum of about 35,000 Dolls will be entered to your credit, making in the whole about Dolls 828,900 —
