Philadelphia 3^rd February 1798 Sir, To pay my acceptances on the Quarter Master Generals and for the payment of several Accounts in his Department Drafts, I request a Warrant in his favour for, four thousand, seven hundred and forty two Dollars &^{c 22}/₁₀₀. As the power of Attorney is now in the hands of the Comptroller, Prospect the Warrant will issue as above requested. Sir This day James Hamilton Waggon leaves this City for Pittsburgh laden with the articles inserted in the enclosed Invoice. It was at first thought best to address the Goods to Fort Stayac to be forwarded from thence, but it struck me that you may have other Stores for these Parts, and that the whole might go through together without being subject to any detention. And I accordingly wish you to mark them answering to the Invoices & send them forward as soon as possible as it is of importance that they get speedily to hand. You will please to write to each of the Commanding Officers, when you forward the Goods and enclose the invoices now sent to you, as they may be of use in making the distribution. Hamilton has the other invoices with him as usual. On examination it is found your disbursements are adjusted as are all others alike circumstanced to the 30^th June 1796 inclusive and placed to the credit of Col^o O'Hara's all subsequent will be credited to the present Quarter Master General. I have added Copies of all the Invoices of Goods forwarded by Hamilton. General Wilkinsons Wine is in another Waggon that you on to day under Hamiltons care, the other part of the load is for the public. I also sent you a Statement of Hamiltons Account, for his last Load, that you may adjust and pay it on the spot: which I think the best mode under circumstances.
