I this morning received your letter of the 1 Instant enclosing Muster & Pay rolls for January of yourself & troops which must be suspended until Congress make the necessary appropriations for the year 1798. So soon as that is done no time shall be lost on my part in having the amount found due on the latter remitted to you thro' the usual channel —
With respect to the back pay claimed by Sergt McIntire there have been no documents transmitted to this Office since I wrote you last on that subject can enable me to ascertain the amount due him
