Pittsburg 26^th January 1798 Sir, Your will find enclosed herewith a General Return of forces Will at this post up to the first of the present year, & at Franklin, to Brugh & Presqu'isle to the 1^st of December 1797 and Have by same packet transmitted a similar Return to the Secretary of War — Have this day found it necessary to draw on you at ten days sight in favor of John Wrenshall for 500 Dollars which be pleased to pay &charge as usual — the Phil^a Mail that became due on the 19^th instant arrived on the 26^th last & the post set off again in few minutes not allowing any time to acknowledge the Receipt of your letter — and it is now 6 oClock P^M and the post not arrived — this irregularity certainly ought to be made known to the Post Master General — I am Sir your H[umble] S[ervant] Samuel Hodgdon Esq^r Philadelphia
