R.P.O.401310.] Pittsburg 26^th January 1798 Sir, You will find enclosed herewith a General Return of Stores N^o. at this post up to the 1^st of the present year, at Fort Franklin, le Bœuf and Presqu'isle to the 1^st of December 1797 and I have by same packet transmitted a similar return to the Secretary of War. I have this day found it necessary to draw on you at ten days sight in favor of John Wrenshall for five hundred dollars which be pleased to pay and charge as usual. The Philadelphia Mail that became due on the 19^th instant arrived on the 20^th Late & the post set off again in a few minutes not allowing any time to acknowledge the Receipts of your letter: And it is now six oClock P.M. and the post not arrived.
