Sir The inclosed packet was left in our hands by M^r John McKee to be forwarded by us to you — we avail ourselves of an Express to Savannah in Georgia to transmit it to the care of our Correspondents there: it will no doubt give you pleasure to understand that M^r Mc. is now in Orleans at full liberty to go or Stay as Suits him The first Conversation he had with the Gov^r. did away all Suspicion Respecting his Connexion with M^r Blount. We have seen your Communication Relative to our Affair, We thank you, Sir, for your friendly expressions, and are sorry that nothing more decisive can be done in the business, perhaps the ensuing Session of Congress may enable you to do all you wish, in which case we Shall expect to hear from you, thro' the Channel of M^r Hawkins — in the meantime we Remain with much Respect & Esteem Sir Your most obed^t. & very humble Serv^ts.
