He has put into my hands Rec^pts & other vouchers for Cash paid by him expended for the payment of [undecipherable] men and horses, as well the paid by him for the purchase of provisions last winter for the troops by order of the Com^r in chief of the Army — [strikethrough: undecipherable] by Day who was furnished with public money [undecipherable] obliged to raise money by the [undecipherable] of my drafts. I have now found the [undecipherable] expiry on his arriving to draw on the Sec^y of War for 5000 Doll. on the 10^th [inst].
