Sir; Your favour of the 2^d of November was deliverd to me Yesterday; & to which I beg leave to reply— Your former Letter to me, bearing date the 11^th of February was never received— with respect to the Monies charged against me on your Books— I have agreably to your Instructions settled with the Pay master General at Grenville in the year 1795.— a Certified [strikethrough: copy] of the original receipt in my possession I have [underline: enclosed] You will discover that there is a Ballance of Ninety five dollars 4/00 in my favour, and if you will Inquire of M^r Betterton an afistant Clerk in your Office, he will inform you that I have an Account against the United States of forty three pounds ten Shillings Pensylvania Currency which was never paid— You will be pleased to direct Col^o Henley to discharge the same— In a Letter from Major Swan to me dated Detroit 3^d of March 1797.
