[Letter Book] Pittsburg January 5^th 1798 Sir, The Detachment under the command of Cap^tn. Joh. Pierce is still here waiting the movement of the ice which is hourly expected. All the cloathing and other Stores destined for Fort Washington [strikethrough: Fort M] are now shipped and go forward escorted by the Detachment. I have lately received two 8 [undecipherable] on traveling carriages, together with 100 inch Shells, but without Howitzers to convey them from this post.
