In conformity to your letter of the 28th April last year inclosing a copy of certain Resolutions of the House of Representatives passed on the 23d March 1797, requiring within the first week of January 1798, statements and estimates in relation to the military & naval establishments, I proceeded to take measures as far as depended on my office to enable the Secretary of the Treasury to comply with the said Resolutions, and accordingly herewith hand you the following abstracts & Estimates agreeably thereto;
A Abstract of the accounts of the receivers of Publick monies paid out of the Treasury, on accounts Unsettled, in pursuance of Warrants issued by the Department of War from 1st January 1791, to the [undecipherable]
B Estimate of the probable application of the monies not accounted for, arising from accounts which have not been finally settled from 1st January 1791, to the 21st January 1797 on account of the Military Establishments.
C Abstract of the actual application of the monies expended for the Military Establishment on accounts finally settled in pursuance of Warrants drawn by the Department from 1st Jany 1791 to the 1st Jany 1797
