Document 1797Pinckney spoke on behalf of the Committee of the House of Rep. on the remonstrance and petition of the Legislature of the State of Tennessee. Committee found that relief was due citizens of Tennessee who were moved from their land that was granted in a treaty to the Indian Nation of Cherokees. Citizens were found to be owed compensation regardless of the secession of North Carolina.
