Answered same day Relative to Camp, Samuel, Sergt Capt Barnes Co, Col Nixons Regt Mass Line Rev War] [Col^t [undecipherable] Samuel] Philadelphia Dec. 20. 1797 Sir, Samuel Camp was in the continental service — Supposed to be a Sergeant in Capt Barnes' Company, Col^t Nixon's Reg^t in the Massachusetts Line — enlisted in the Year 1777 and was taken Prisoner, the Summer of that Year — Made his Escape from the Enemy & Sometime afterwards died — His poor Relations Suppose there was a Balance of Wages due him which may have been charged by Massachusetts against the U.
