Blackburn Fort Norfolk Accountants Office December 18 1797 Sir I received your letter of the 6 Instant covering Receipt Rolls for September & October and Muster & Pay Rolls for November 1797 of the detachment under your command, your account will receive a credit on the Books of this Office for Five hundred twenty two dollars & thirty one cents which is the amount that should have been receipted on the former differing from your statement fifty Cents being so much over paid Clark & Moorland & Lambkin as particularly noted in my letters of the 1 & 15 Ult. You will receive the amount of the latter in the usual manner from Edward Carrington Esquire Supervisor at Richmond on giving him Duplicate Receipts for the amount being Two hundred eighty Two Dollars and seventy two Cents holding yourself accountable for the due application of the Same.
