Report to the President from the Departments of War, Treasury and State on a Treasury & Revenue Dispute

Analyzes complaints of the Secretary of the Treasury, Oliver Wolcott, Jr., against a Mr. Coxe, Commissioner of the Revenue. These are: a complaint of the delinquency of the inspector of the revenue in Massachusetts, a complaint regarding a man who acted as a supervisor of both districts and of surveys, an issue arising from an act imposing stamp duties, a complaint of unsatisfactory communication regarding the distinguishing of lighthouses, a complaint arising from differences over an act regulating stills, and a complaint concerning alleged mismanagement of the internal revenues of Pennsylvania. The Cabinet has reviewed the correspondence between the two men, decides in favor of Wolcott, and recommends the dismissal of Coxe.
