[Sent [undecipherable] original January 2^d 1798] M^r William Washhoff late Pay Master of the Militia of All^y County Pittsburg Sir Accountants Office December 11 1797 Wesley Nevill who stands charged on the books of this Office with a considerable sums of money received on the Pay of certain Militia called out for the protection of Allegheny County, on application by him to account for the same, he has produced a receipt signed by you for 981⁰⁰ Dollars dated 30^th May 1792, being for the pay of a Company of Militia under the command of Cap^ts James Sampbell and Cap^ts W^m Connee for which you are accountable to this Department. I have therefore to request that you will forward the receipts of the Individuals of the said Companies for the monies you paid to this Office, accompanied by an account current shewing the monies you have received, and paid. The Vouchers to be regularly numbered and entered in said account, This being done they will be examined at this Office, and the proper Amount passed on the Books thereof. Your immediate Attention to this object is particularly requested, as otherwise the sum with your name attached will appear in a list of Delinquents I am directed to lay before Congress.
