I received yours of the 13 Dec^r informing me the pay for this Garrison had been forwarded to M^r Dexter at Providence in consequence of which I went there and waited on him and to my disappointment it had not arrived nor indeed has it yet. with this you'll receive the Muster & Pay Rolls for the months of Oct Nov^r & Dec^r 1797. I will be obliged to you to have the pay sent on as soon as convenient as the troops have been without pay for six months. I did intend to muster them every three months, but hereafter it will be best to do it every month.
