I duly received your letter of the 9th Instt enclosing three receipts for Bounty paid by you which are filed in the usual manner, also Muster & Pay Roll of the detachment under your command to 30th November 97 inclusive to the latter your pay has been added from 11th October last (til which day you received pay in advance in this Office) amotg to 4193/100 Dollars making in all 937/100 Dollars from which deduct 15 Cents overcalculated on pay of John Stiles Parson, leaves an amount of Ninety three Dollars and fourteen Cents which sum you will receive from Nicholas Fish Esqr Supervisor New York on giving him duplicate receipts holding yourself accountable for the due application of the same.
As respects the claim of James Hambleton [strikethrough: claim] for 15 days back pay it is inadmissible, the same being [undecipherable] by his desertion from on board the Frigate
