Your letter of the 23d Ultimo, accompanied by the News Papers and a key of Colo Sargent's Trunk and covering an Invoice of the General's Stores for and Mr. Bever's Receipt for Captain Crawford's Pension, is all come safe to hand.
I am glad that Colo Fouaid has attended to the land Business at the Treasury and am much obliged to you for keeping him in the mind of it and also for your attention to my claim on the Secretary of War. The two 8 inch Howitzers are arrived but I have no information of the two 24 & four 18 pounders being on the Way. I am however making the necessary provi-sion for mounting them. When in company with Secretary of the Treasury please to ask him what is like to be the result of our application to Congress for a resurvey of Lands on the Ohio.
