I received yours the 25th of August last and wrote the contents. After repeated applications, alterations in Parolls and Certificates, Capt. Daniel Gano as Agent for me Drew for me Seven hundred twenty three dollars Sixty four Cents and two thirds as will appear to you from the Receipts of the Scouts. Your Statement is 697 dollars and 17 Cents. — The greater part of the monies had been advanced to the Scouts by Capt. Gano and myself previous to his obtaining the above, and it was with difficulty we could obtain their Signatures, I now enclose you the Voucher filled up as forwarded to me, and expect a discharge from your Books
