I duly received your letter of the 25th Instt enclosing a duplicate receipt of John Kelleys for three Dollars, on account of bounty, which will be placed with those before received, to be entered to your credit, on a settlement of your recruiting account.

I received your letter of the 21st Instant enclosing the receipt Roll for July and August and the Muster and Pay Rolls for September and October 1797, of the detachment under your command. The amount receipted on this will be passed to your credit on the Books of this Office, being [undecipherable] Hundred forty four dollars and sixty Cents, from the latter the following deductions have been made, Vizt. Pay of Charles W[undecipherable] Corporal, deserted (which is forfeited by law) 9.29 and an overcalculation on the pay of Daniel Burns private of 13 Cents, which deductions leave a Balance due on the roll of Six hundred thirty three Doll and fifty two Cents which you will receive in the usual manner from Daniel Stevens Esqr Supervisor Charleston on your giving the necessary Receipts holding yourself accountable.
P.S. you will receive some Blank
Muster, Pay and Receipt Rolls herewith.
