John Kilty Esq^r Accountants Office Supervisor Baltimore November 23^d 17[--] Sir John Randall at Annapolis stan[ds] Charged on the books of this Office with the sum of 250 dolla[rs] advanced him for the purpose of mounting Artillery at Annap[olis] since which it has been determined to Close as many accounts as possible on the books of this Office either by producing Vouch[ers] for expenditures, or refunding the balance to the Treasurer of the United States. In the present case M^r Randall informs me he is ready to refund the Two hundred and fifty Dollars (hav[ing] expended no part) I have accordingly directed him to pay the a[mount] to you and take your duplicate Receipt one of which he is to forw[ard] to this Office, and you will remit the amount to the Treasurer of the United States, when the sum will be entered to your Cred[it on] the books of this Office. — I am &^c W^m Simm[s] A[ct] Daniel Bedinger Esq^r Accountants Off[ice] Norfolk Virginia November 23^d [17--] Sir I have received your Letter of the 13^th Instant enclosing the receipts of Edward Carrington Esq^r Supervisor Richmond for Three Hundred Sixty Dollars and fi[fty] Cents which sum will be entered to your credit (in lieu of the fo[rm One transmitted) on the books of this Office; and your account clo[sed] accordingly — I am &^c W^m Simm[s] A[ct]
