I duly received your letters of the 10th & 11th Instant, the former enclosing Receipt Rolls for pay of yourself and Recruits for October 1797 amounting to forty eight Dollars eighty seven Cents, which Sum will be passed to your Credit on the books of this Office.
The two letters above mentioned contained Sundry receipts paid by you for Bounty amounting to Seventy four Dollars and thirty Cents, which will be kept on file until a Settlement of your Account takes place. The most ready way in my Opinion of Settling your Old account will be to Credit the United States for the balance in the next Statement that you may have Occasion to render.
