As I have not been furnished with any infor of the instructions to Mr Swan for paying the Troops, or the me taken for paying those in Tennesee. I am totally uninformed to the period to which they are paid. I have therefore to reques you will be pleased to inform me of the measures taken for pay them, and to what time they are directed to be paid, that I ma govern myself in the settlements made in this Office.
