Pittsburg 16 November 1797 D^r Sir I have this day received your three letters of the 2 3^d 4¹⁰ current with their enclosures which I shall not fail to attend to. As to the 72 dollars refunded to me by Doctor Balfour, by a recurrence to your letter to me of the 17 of March last, you will find that I have heretofore settled that sum with you — for the Months of Jan & Feb 1796 Doctor Balfour was paid by me for no other.
