I duly received your letters of a[undecipherable] Instant the former enclosing Muster and pay Roll of the detachment at West Point for October 1797 amounting to Six hundred Seventy three Dollars and ninety seven Cents from which has been deducted the pay of James McClasty for September the[undecipherable] having been made up in Lieutenant Marschalls Pay Roll transmitted to him, nevertheless if it appears hereafter that he did not receive the said pay thro the latter channel you will be furnished with instructions to pay him, the above deduction in the amount of Six Hundred Seventy Three Dollars and ninety Seven Cents which Sum you will receive from Nicholas Fish Esqr Super New York on your giving him the necessary receipts in the usual form.
