Having been four Years entrusted with important and valuable Confidence in the Office; and acquainted with the current business, and general transactions therein; I flatter myself, I am competent to discharge the Duties of Chief Clerk with fidelity, justice and dispatch. I am well aware of the importance attached to so respectable a Situation; and the responsibility connected with it; yet these do not deter me from expecting your favorable notice; in soliciting the above Situation, for a more competent provision for a numerous family.
