Clothing for Lieutenant Hale's Recruits
Document 1797Enclosed is an order on Mr. Harris for fifty suits of artillerists' clothing for Lieutenant David Hale whose recruiting rendezvous is at Governors Island near New York. Since part of this clothing is for recruits already enlisted, it might be well to send a few suits by way of Amboy if the carriage expense is not excessive.

Sir,
I enclose you an order on Mr Harris for fifty suits of Artillerists Clothing for Lieut David Hale whose recruiting rendezvous is at Governor's Island near New York.
As Mr Hale is now in want of some part of this Clothing for Recruits he has already inlisted; perhaps if the expence of carriage is not much greater it might be well to send a few suits by the way of Amboy —
I am Sir
very respectfully
Your obedt servant
